About Berwick Parish Church

We are the parish church of Berwick- upon-Tweed, dedicated to the Holy Trinity and St Mary. The building is a rare example of a parish church built during Oliver Cromwell’s Commonwealth. Consequently it has no tower, spire or bells and has a lively story to tell in this borderland between England and Scotland.

Welcome to the most northerly church in England!

Berwick Parish Church is an active, living Church which is open to all, welcomes all and has its ministry rooted in serving the local community and the many visitors who come to explore this very special part of the world.

We celebrate our Parish Eucharist on Sundays and Thursdays in church at 10.00am. The service on Sundays is also available online. Please let us know if you would like to join our mailing list to receive the weekly online link.

There is also a service of Holy Communion in church on Sundays at 8.30am and Choral Evensong at 6.00pm.

These services and the 10.00am service on Thursdays follow the Book of Common Prayer.

The church is open daily for private prayer  between 8.30am and 5.00pm, and Morning and Evening Prayer is said daily at 8.30am and 5.00pm.
