We were delighted to welcome the newly installed Bishop of Newcastle, the Rt. Rev’d Helen-Ann Hartley to Berwick to bless one of its oldest and most impressive events: the Riding of the Bounds.
After meeting at the Barracks, the horses and riders processed to the Guildhall to be met by the Civic Party and the Bishop. Having requested permission from the Mayor to check the bounds the Bishop blessed the horses and riders as they embarked on their journey.
