06 Nov Daily Hope Phone Line
“With many in our country on lockdown, it’s important that we support those who are feeling lonely and isolated, whatever age they are.”
Archbishop Justin Welby
During the Corona pandemic many people have valued the opportunities social media and the internet have given to enable interaction with others.
However lots of people have not had access to the internet, and feel particularly isolated and lonely at this time. With such people particularly in mind, the Church of England launched a free national phone line which offers music, reflections, prayers and worship services to those who are unable to join services, either in church or online. The line – which is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 –
has been set up particularly with those unable to join online church
services during the period of restrictions in mind; to provide comfort
and spiritual nourishment to the most isolated in our society.
Callers will hear a message from the Archbishop of Canterbury before being asked to choose from a range of options, including hymns, prayers, reflections and advice on Covid-19.
We wanted to make you aware of this service, and would also ask you to let other people know about it, if you feel it is something they would like to use.
The service is called Daily Hope, and the free phone line is: 0800 804 8044
