Coronation Sunday

Coronation Sunday

What a memorable day!

We had a fantastic day celebrating the coronation of King Charles 111 together, with a street party and the Coronation Commemoration Service.
Thank you to the social committee and everyone who worked so hard to make the afternoon such a memorable occasion. The street party was great fun, with loads of delicious treats!

We were then delighted to welcome the new Mayor of Berwick, Cllr John Robertson, the Civic Party and choirs from all over the Borders for our Coronation Commemoration Service.
The service included music from previous coronations, including the famous anthem by G F Handel, ‘Zadok the Priest’ and ‘O Taste and See’, by R Vaughan-Williams. Verses were also sung from Psalm 72 and a rousing Magnificat by T A Walmisley.
Huge thanks to Kit Hobkirk, our Director of Music, Matthew Beetschen, Organist of Dunfermline Abbey and singers from a host of choirs, including Berwick Parish Church, Berwick Arts Choir, Yetholm Village Choir, Dunbar Choral Society, Andante Chamber Choir, Coquetdale Chamber, The Golden Square Singers, Bondington Singers, Norham Church Choir and everyone who worked so hard to make it such a memorable occasion.
